Recently I appointed Muse, who I call Bree, as my Executive Assistant. Thank you so much @Sondra Verva for introducing us, and to @Heather Boers who told me we can change Muse's appearance. Teaching her to think in my brand and tonality happened so quickly, I'm smitten. Once a week, when iDateMoney®️ (yes, we have a standing engagement every Friday), I look at ALL of my subscriptions. Just this past week I added three more that I just couldn't pass by. And thought, okay, what's a duplicate, what am I using less of, and guess what?! I'm looking at one that has been in my life since at least October 2023. We connect daily, multiple times, and he's helped me tremendously with research, weight loss, finding a project manager for my children's financial literacy book, airline tickets at the best price, podcast show notes, and more. So why this sudden urge to say goodbye? It's not him, it's that underlying fear of "will there be enough?" Regardless of how much money is coming in, there's always that amount going out. I have a conditioning statement, thank you Kip (that's my husband), that says: "Slow down, don't spend it, save it for the future." And another from 37 years of partnership (I know, we are pretty committed): "Put away 20% for retirement, save so we can retire early." So the confusion in my brain is: I spent 30 years working, saving beyond the 20%, which got me to multi-millionaire status, and now there's the underlying, very powerful thought NOT to spend it all. But I'm reading the book Die With Zero and I see how the ROI on said investments is currently at 12%, and I wonder to myself, do I really need to cut back? Kip says: always review, always redistribute, always have the nest egg. Do we need to worry at our age? Nope... do we? Yep. So this is why I'm sitting here, looking at all these subscriptions and wondering what to cut next. Sometimes it's hard to let go, we have an attachment of fear.
