Communication
Do you allow open communication with your clients?
A friend of mine went to an inexpensive massage place two weeks ago. During the session the pressure got so deep it took her breath away, to the point that she couldn’t speak to ask for less pressure. After she caught her breath she felt uncomfortable saying anything.
Two days later she was still in terrible pain and ended up at the chiropractor.
This is the second story I’ve heard like this in the past month. Clients uncomfortable but too nervous to say something.
Checking in during the session is helpful but framing communication and pressure expectations up front is key in my opinion.
