Do you ‘deserve’ rest?
Mercy - not getting what you do deserve Grace - getting what you don’t deserve Both require judgement and give the impression that something is to be earned When we feel that way about rest, we can drive ourselves to burnout because deep down, we don’t feel like anything we do will ever be ‘enough’ So we need to make a shift You don’t earn the right to rest Rest IS the right And the bonus is that when you practice rest as a right, it gives you the energy to do what you’re doing, well More energy = more focus More focus = less mistakes Less mistakes = less correction Less correction = more time More time = more energy So what judgement are you casting over yourself that makes you feel like you still have to earn rest? What time horizon are you giving yourself which makes everything urgent and a now problem? What story about your past are you trying to overcompensate for? What issue do you care about so deeply that you feel only you can deal with it within your lifetime? Let’s discuss in the comments

Is Joy The Most Powerful Tool We Have, Against Burnout?
I might start writing more regularly, but this is an article I wrote 2 years ago that I think is still pretty relevant for those of us here who may be missing an important part of recovery. Joy. https://medium.com/@ebunolaglobalcoaching/is-joy-the-most-powerful-tool-we-have-against-burnout-a6cb49939d93 I'd love to know... When you have been at your most joyful, what components were at work in your life at the time?

Why your mind affects your body
I went live on TikTok (I know, I was just trying something) and there was a question on why the body gets affected by the mind For those who are constantly doing the right things - exercise, healthy eating, sleeping, hydrating etc - and still not feeling better, this one is for you But I’d like to know which stresses are the most challenging for you below:

How grounded do you feel?
I saw this fishing boat washed up on Lumley Beach. It was abandoned, and wasn’t meant to be there. It was built for movement, not stillness. Out at sea, grounding keeps you steady while things move. Here, it’s stuck. Heavy. Exposed. I see a lot of capable people under pressure experiencing this. You wouldn’t notice to look at them. But zoom out and you see the wider context. On the outside, things look solid. But zoom out and there’s very little support. Grounding isn’t about stopping, or slowing everything down, though. It’s about having enough stability internally and externally, to respond (instead of react), when life gets rough — without tipping into exhaustion. Curious where you’re at right now:

How to jump start your recovery
You’re burnt out Depleted Exhausted When it comes to recovery, sometimes, doing the motions can help jumpstart the recovery Think back to the last time you felt like you do now What did you do to recover When did you stop doing that What was the impact of stopping What if you started them now? You may not feel it immediately, but in time, the feelings can catch up to how those people, places, activities etc used to help you feel What you you think you might need to start/stop/change, to begin your recovery?
