🔬 Peptide Highlight: Retatrutide (aka “Triple G” or “Reta”)
You’ve probably been hearing buzz about this one — and it’s worth knowing what’s actually coming.
What is it?
Retatrutide is a triple hormone receptor agonist — meaning it targets not one, not two, but THREE hunger-regulating hormones simultaneously: GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon. That’s why it’s being called the “triple G” or “triple agonist.” Think of it as the next evolution beyond what we currently have with Mounjaro/Zepbound (which only hit GIP + GLP-1).
The results are jaw-dropping.
In the Phase 3 TRIUMPH-1 trial, participants on the 12mg dose lost an average of 70+ lbs — that’s 28.3% of body weight over 80 weeks — with nearly HALF of participants achieving 30% or more weight loss. That level of loss has historically been associated with bariatric surgery.
When is it coming?
Lilly plans to complete seven additional Phase 3 clinical trials in 2026, compiling data to submit to the FDA for approval. Once those trials wrap, the FDA review process typically takes 10–12 months — meaning retatrutide could potentially be available to the public as early as 2027 or 2028.
Bottom line?
This is one to watch closely. The data is impressive, Lilly has serious momentum behind it, and for those of us in the GLP-1 space — this is the future of metabolic medicine. 🙌
And Yes it is available from peptide companies ☺️
