The spirit

I have my views about free will, not sure if it exists or doesn’t, I appreciate awareness, perspective and how everything seems to be so important to itself. I was talking with someone yesterday about how my “spirit” decides (in the case that it can anyway). The person understands that my spirit and others can have tendencies that are not always so gentle… they said “that’s not good” (to mine deciding) …. we were in an argument about our relationship to be fair. I mentioned how they told me before how their spirit is like water and oil, a mix of clarity and some other possibly more selfish or conditioned qualities/attributes. I said how when I act from my spirit, given the culmination of my wisdom or skills/fears/intentions - that I simply act the best that I can in any given moment. One of the videos on here, I forget the name, is a guy engaged in what seems like guided meditation where I came to connect with what felt like my core of innocence or joy. I’m interested to know what others have found is their spirit or if they believe there is something deeper within that is purer than even that state or a way to access the purer state directly without having to have the “water and oil” effect.
