I put off painting this scene for awhile. I knew it would be tough. More so than things I usually paint. A lot of shapes to balance, perspective to get right in the drawing. Simplifying an almost infinite amount of detail from the reference photo into something that works as a painting.
But today, I decided, would be the day I finished it.
Two (quite intense) hours later, and this is the result.
It was indeed difficult, but I am so glad I accepted the resistance and leaned into it, instead of away from it. Beautiful things happen when we do this.
I once heard a quote that said, "Everything you have ever wanted is just outside of your comfort zone."
