There are some exciting events and developments coming up in the society, and you don’t want to miss all the details. Plus, this is the perfect time to meet some of the members. What Would You like To See In The Society
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, As we continue to strive for the betterment and improvement of this society, we want to encourage all of the members to be active and to help build this society. We understand that some came from the previous site and some were present when the Gentleman’s Lounge became The Society Of Ordinary Gentlemen, the purpose of the change was to help build and promote not just a community but a society and and a lifestyle of ladies and gentlemen. There is no set formula to achieve this but there are standards and values that have been present. But we also would like to hear from the members of what you would like to see and topics that you would like to explore and discuss. We would like hear good and positive feedback, we are not looking to hear finger pointing or blaming, or how things use to be. Yes things have changed for the better not to say that things were bad in the past but to better in the ways of improvement. One of the key points we are looking to is host more Society Lounges, and also when a board member is online to open up a live feed, where members can come into the lounge to visit, ask questions , offer suggestions, or just get to know members. So please take a few minutes and give us your thoughts, and what you would like to see. We cannot guarantee that all an ideas will be used, or placed into practice right away. But we will take all of them into consideration. Thank you im advance.

A Story From My Past
In junior and senior highschool I was creative, rebellious and adventurous. I made money by betting on My abilities, not someone else's. In the mid to late 1960s we didn't have 7-11s or any of the chain or franchise enterprises we have today. We had " News Stores" that were basically a modern day 7-11 and a CVS combined but without the pharmacy. And they carried every newspaper and magazine printed. I would bet my buddies that I could go into Nestor's, our newsstore, and steal anything. The guys would bet a quarter or up to a dollar ( good money back then) that I couldn't steal a particular item. I would accept the bets and go into the store. 15 minutes to half an hour later I would emerge from the store and walk around to the side of the building. There I would produce the items. I collected my bets and to their collective dismay would return to the store where I would return what I had stolen. I never explained myself to my buddies. But this would occur at least once a week for five years. What I didn't explain is what my dad taught me: Once you steal You are a Thief. When people learn You are a Thief, you will Never be Trusted. Back then, I couldn't imagine living anywhere beyond ten miles away. I simply didn't want the reputation of a thief. I enjoyed the challenge, the rush, the danger but I didn't sacrifice my integrity in the process. The reason I share this is because an event in my current life reminded of it. At worst please consider it the rambling of an old man with many adventures and memories. Thank you for your time.
