🔨 In the Build: Bring Us Into It
In the Build is where we bring the work that is still...well...in the build. 😂
Not just the finished version.
The graphic you’re deciding between.
The offer you’re testing.
The post that got crickets.
The community you’re getting ready to open.
The idea that makes perfect sense in your head but isn’t quite translating yet.
The thing that WORKED and now you’re wondering why.
The little win that happened before you’ve reached the finish line.
This is the messy middle.
And we think there’s a whole lot we can learn from each other here.
When we created In the Build, we kept coming back to four questions:
What are you trying?
What are you wondering?
What would help?
What are you learning?
A few of you have since reminded us of something important...
Sometimes knowing you’re welcome to post isn’t enough.
It helps to know how to start.
So if the blank post box is staring back at you, here’s a little shape you can borrow:
What I’m building:
Who it’s for:
Where I am right now:
What I’m working on next:
What would help:
That’s it.
Use all five.
Use two.
Ignore the whole thing and tell us the story your way. 😂
This is a starting point, not a formula.

You don’t need the whole map.
You just need to show us where you are right now.
Then keep us in the build.
You don’t need to create a brand-new post every time something happens.
Come back to your original Build and tell us:
What I tried:
What happened:
What I’m wondering now:
Over time, that thread becomes something pretty cool.
It becomes a record of the decisions, experiments, wrong turns, little wins, surprises, and changes that got you from there to here.
And those are surprisingly hard to see when you’re the one doing the building.
When someone lets you into their build, come alongside them.
This may be my favorite part.
You do NOT need to have the answer.
Ask a question.
Tell them what you notice.
Share something you tried.
Look at the graphic.
Click through the page.
Be a tester if you’re the right person.
Or simply offer another set of builder eyes.
And if someone comes to mind whose experience or perspective could genuinely help, tag them into the conversation.
Not because we need more comments.
Because sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is connect the right builder to the right conversation.
Sometimes a question like “What are you hoping will happen?” is more useful than ten pieces of advice.
Encouragement matters here, too.
We all need someone cheering from the sidelines sometimes.
But when you see something that might genuinely help another builder, say it.
That’s builders helping builders.
And THAT makes my Skoolology heart very happy. 💚💙💜
A few things we want to say out loud.
Unfinished really is the point.
Please don’t wait until you have a success story.
The half-built thing may actually give us more to talk about than the polished version.
And chances are, somebody else here is wrestling with something surprisingly similar.
Share only what you’re comfortable sharing publicly.
Skoolology is a public community.
You never need to share every number, screenshot, name, or detail for us to learn alongside you.
If you’re a Premium member and something needs a smaller, private conversation, that’s what our Build Room is there for.
Different rooms for different conversations.
Links are welcome when they’re part of the build.
Show us the community.
The offer.
The workshop.
The sales page.
The thing you’re making.
Just bring us into the story around it.
What are you testing?
What would you like us to notice?
What are you trying to figure out?
That’s very different from dropping an ad and disappearing.
And one last thing...
Sometimes something shared here sparks a conversation we think other builders could learn from, too.
If you’d be open to us exploring your Build in one of our Skoolology recordings, tell us in your post.
We’ll always ask before we use your Build that way.
There is no requirement to post an In the Build.
No posting quota.
No “comment on three before you can share yours.”
No perfect way to do this.
We just want you to know the door is open.
When you have something in the messy middle, something you want another set of eyes on, or something you’re learning as you go, bring us into the build. 🔨
