Has society really fallen apart?

So I've noticed that lately in society, people aren't very interactive, especially around my age. I am 23, and I notice that when I am going for a walk or a bike ride, when I see people my age, they look downwards, so that is their hint of not wanting a hello. But older people, usually millennials, will say hello. So my concern is, are people not social anymore? Is it true that getting into a relationship will only get harder over time because of devices? What can I do about this? Should I still say hello to someone who puts their head down when walking past me?
