Excited to be here!
I am a photographer, content creator, and author from Helsinki, Finland. I wrote my first book back in 2004. The next several books were about using Canon cameras. The series was called Better Pictures with Canon. About a year ago, I had an injury and needed to spend two months in bed. Then I decided to make something of it and started writing a book. The content is based on my YouTube channel about street photography. Basically, I got the transcripts from the videos and rewrote them into book form. After I had 3 chapters raedy a started selling the book by uploading the first 3 chapters to Gumroad. People could buy it then. As more chapters were ready, I uploaded a new version so that those who had bought it could get the next chapters. Every time I added chapters, the price went up a bit. When the book was ready, all who had backed it received it as a PDF. The writing took a lot longer than I had planned. I was finally ready to publish the book on January 4th this year. Figuring out the publishing process was probably the hardest part. My book Street Photography: From Snapshots to Stories is print-on-demand and available on Amazon, The Great British Book Shop, and through IngramSpark to other online sellers. Not sure where... :) It has been exciting and Book Launchers' YouTube channel has been very helpful. I am excited to learn more about the whole process here.
Delighted to be here!
Hi everyone, Delighted to be here. I’m Dr Andy Egwim, founder of Moneywise Doctor. I recently authored and self-published my first book, The Moneywise Doctor, a non-fiction personal finance book initially written for UK doctors and healthcare professionals, which went on to become an Amazon bestseller shortly after launch. A big part of our launch was driven by pre-orders and community support, and along the way I found Julie’s content on YouTube incredibly helpful. Her videos clarified a lot of the self-publishing process for me, so I was really pleased to discover this community on Skool. I’m here to learn, share ideas, and collaborate with other non-fiction authors navigating the self-publishing journey. Looking forward to connecting and contributing where I can. Andy
