"UNLEARNING" TO HEAL
Something I don’t say often enough: two years ago, I couldn’t walk on my right knee. I weighed 320 pounds and I was carrying the emotional and physical weight of years surviving instead of healing. I had already left mainstream medicine in 2020. Infrared therapy came in 2021 (saunas). Patching with infrared light technology started in 2023 — not for weight loss, but to support my body while it relearned how to trust itself. That was the beginning of the shift. Then, in 2024, my husband died. The grief cracked everything open. I cut sugar, not to change my body but to protect my nervous system. Grief changed how I showed up for myself. Now, in 2025, I’m in personal training. I’m 52 years old and in this video, I’m pushing and pulling 135 pounds: the same amount of weight I once carried on my body. This isn’t a transformation post. It’s a reclaiming of movement., breath. and a life I was told to surrender to insurance codes, prescriptions, and decline that is unstoppable because of aging. And I just want to say this here:If your body still hurts… if you’re still carrying more than people can see. You’re not behind. You’re not late. You’re just on your way. Have you had to unlearn what they told you about healing? What’s one part of your body or story you’re reclaiming now? I’d love to hear it.

From one weight to two: small wins add up!
Last night I shared a short clip on Facebook and TikTok about a shift I’m really proud of. A month ago, I could only carry one 25 lb weight at a time. Now I’m walking with two — one in each hand. It’s not about the numbers. For me, it’s about what happens when you keep showing up, even when it feels awkward or slow. Progress in the gym mirrors progress in life: small steps, repeated over time, start collapsing the “old” version of you and building the new. I’d love to open this up here: What’s one small win you’ve had recently that felt like proof you’re moving forward? Doesn’t have to be fitness — it could be emotional, spiritual, career, grief, or daily life. Let’s celebrate the little shifts, because they’re the ones that add up to the big transformations.
