I've previously been a big fan of Clarks shoes. I know they are a lower end brand but they provided comfortable shoes which I was less afraid to wear in mud etc.
In 2019, I brought a pair of Clarks boots which lasted until end of winter 22/23. I wore them maybe 30 days a year when the weather was really bad. In August 2023, I brought another pair (pictured) which lasted maybe maximum 30 wears. I paid £45 and £55 (about $65) but the boots retail for £120 ($140) and the best current outlet price is £84 ($106).
Similarly, I've had a pair of Clarks brouge shoes I brought this October which are already on their last legs, even though I only wear them once per week when I go to the office!
I've decided to completely replace all Clarks products in my wardrobe. I've replaced the boots with Goodyear welted Loake Aquarius (seconds due to a slight mark which doesn't bother me on a military style boot) for £110 ($140) and Samuel Windsor Goodyear Welted Chelsea boots for £50 ($60).
I've already replaced the Clarks brogues with the GYW Barker Brogues I posted previously!
