Prince of Wales suit c. 1930ish

Hello everyone I love this suit worn by Actor Douglas Reith by his Character: Lord Merton from Downton Abby. I believe it's called Prince of Wales checked suit. Now correct me if I am wrong, but typically suits from this era do not have side vents and possibly no single vents either. So just like a tux.

For those who have experience wearing such suits, how should it fit? How does it feel? I would love to get a M2M suit in the near future. Let me know your thought because I have no idea about suits from that era.
