OOTD - Tuesday 23 June

The worker jacket is one of the easiest “throw-on-and-go” pieces in menswear. Practical, comfortable, and inherently a more casual than boardroom piece. The beauty of it, though, is how quickly it can level up with just one smart move, adding matching trousers.

When you pair a worker jacket with trousers cut from the same cloth, it shifts from “jacket you grabbed at the door” to an intentional chore suit. That bit of coordination elevates the whole look without making it feel stiff. You still get the relaxed, utilitarian attitude of the worker jacket, but the matching set reads cleaner and more put-together.

To push it one step further, I swap the usual open-collar approach for a knitted tie. The tie brings texture and a slightly playful vibe, especially against the matte, workwear fabric of a chore suit. It adds polish, but not the sharp, formal kind. It is a more tactile and approachable look. The result lands in a sweet spot of “Casual Business” rather than “Business Casual.” It’s professional enough to look considered, but relaxed enough to feel like you’re still being yourself.

So with all that in mind it was walk my littlest to school and grab a coffee in the 2c (35F) morning chill and keep warm.
