Last day of the first half of the year. Old people like me now exclaim, "That's crazy!"

Had the realization that client delays on a project now mean I will be doing video interviews of patients from my cruise ship in the Mediterranean. I might need to bring more proper business attire than planned (which was planned to be 1 "just in case" outfit while believing it would not be required). I don't mind it, but do anticipate difficulties with both my wife's tour schedules (not many, given time zones) and internet connectivity while at sea. Fun stuff!

I like today's outfit. Lots of blue/brown combo and with different patterns that - to my eye - harmonize. PLEASE do comment either way, but especially if it comes across as busy.

• Dress Shirt — DS-034 (Savile Row Company): Navy and white Prince of Wales check in cotton with French cuffs and point collar. The subtle windowpane pattern adds visual interest without overwhelming on camera, while the classic point collar works beautifully with today's tie knot. French cuffs allow for cufflink presentation — essential when meeting in person. Tuesday Rule item: only 6 wears, still at just $7.17 CPW.

• Slacks — SL-007 (Santorelli): Tobacco wool in Super 110s, flat-front with regular cuffs and belt loops. Medium drape that falls beautifully without feeling heavy, breaking appropriately between medium and full. These Italian-crafted slacks bring a warm earth tone to anchor the outfit's brown leather accessories. Recently retailored (Q4 2025) to work towards achieving the perfect fit. A wardrobe staple at 27 total wears and now $15 CPW — classic tobacco wool that pairs beautifully with navy blazers.

• Odd Jacket — DOJ-010 (Ralph Lauren): Navy wool blazer with gold brass buttons in a 2-button single-breasted configuration. Rope shoulders with high armholes, full polyester lining, small notch lapels, and single rear vent. The slight sheen reads beautifully on video conference. An eBay find at just $59 — now at $8.33 CPW after 6 wears. Classic American blazer excellence.

• Necktie — NT-057 (Rampley & Co): Blue shantung silk with cream and ecru stripes in a 3-fold construction. Self-tipped with hand-rolled edges and slip stitch. The 8cm width is perfectly modern, and the matte texture of shantung provides that beautiful "dry" silk look that photographs exceptionally well. 59" length accommodates any knot style. Tuesday Rule item: Only 2 wears — still building CPW on this luxurious piece ($106 current).

• Vest — VWC-015 (Hockerty): Brown tweed in a Prince of Wales check pattern, double-breasted with 2x2 button configuration. Tan and brown swirl buttons with full polyester lining. The brown-beige-red color palette provides a warm counterpoint to the navy jacket and blue tie. An eBay find at $52. Tuesday Rule item: Just 2 wears ($26 CPW) — giving this piece more runway today.

• Belt — B-011 (Hanks): "The Esquire Raised" in Havana brown leather with distinctive white edge stitching and silver buckle. Single collar design with pill-shaped holes and snap-closure removable buckle. American craftsmanship at its finest — this belt has become a workhorse at 54 total wears and just $3.05 CPW (98% reduction from original cost). The Havana brown perfectly matches today's chocolate brown shoes and briefcase, while the white stitching adds subtle detail.

• Footwear — DSh-007 (Allen Edmonds): Chocolate brown cap-toe Oxford in Goodyear welted leather construction. USA-made with stacked leather heel, 6 eyelets, and Kirby Allison dark brown waxed cotton laces. A wardrobe workhorse at 89 total wears and now just $5.06 CPW — my most cost-effective dress shoes. Cedar shoe trees and proper storage ensure these classics will serve for years to come.

• Dress Socks — DSo-063 (Fort Belvedere): Over-the-calf cotton in mid-brown with blue shadow stripes. The blue stripe echoes the navy/blue theme of the jacket and tie while anchoring to the brown leather accessories. Perfect for bridging the warm brown leather story with the cool navy tailoring.

• Cufflinks — CL-020 (Unnamed): Deep blue square glass stones with brushed gold border in classic T-bar mechanism. The gold coordinates with the blazer's brass buttons while the blue complements the shirt, tie, and jacket. Medium-sized and business classic appropriate.

• Pocket Square — PS-017 (Fort Belvedere): Brown and blue paisley in silk, 16.5" square. The paisley incorporates brown, blue, and light blue — pulling together the entire outfit's color story. Worn with a casual puff fold for the relaxed portion of the day.
