CW = Critiques welcome!
Sporting not just a few new finds on PoshMark, but also a great crease on the slacks. I use my LF Style with a build in trouser creaser and was thoroughly impressed with how they came out.
It's a short business week, so I need to get crackin' with the week's goals in order to finish them!
• Blazer — DOJ-011 (John W. Nordstrom): A luxurious glen check sportscoat crafted from a cashmere and silk blend, featuring mid brown with cream and dark brown accents. The matte finish and large notch lapels create a sophisticated yet approachable business casual aesthetic. Full polyester and viscose lining with four swirl brown wrist buttons—a perfect bridge piece for internal meetings without suit formality.
• Shirt — DS-019 (Charles Tyrwhitt): A non-iron Westminster weave puppytooth dress shirt in mocha brown and white. The spread collar (5" spread) pairs beautifully with today's tie knot, while the double-button barrel cuffs with mitered corners add subtle refinement. High opacity cotton with very soft hand—comfortable for all-day wear. Collar stay size: 2.5".
• Undershirt — US-007 (Pro Club): Heavy-weight chocolate cotton crew neck that complements the earth-tone story while remaining invisible under the high-opacity dress shirt. Provides consistent coverage and structure beneath the shirt.
• Tie — NT-049 (Paul Fredrick): A sage green/celadon silk 3-fold tie with a vintage-inspired geometric medallion/foulard pattern featuring navy, orange/rust, white, and gold accents. The 4" width and low sheen finish harmonize perfectly with the glen check blazer's warm brown palette. Knot: Half-Windsor for balanced presence with the spread collar.
• Slacks — SL-008 (Santorelli): Khaki wool basket weave slacks with flat front (no pleats) and full break. The tailored fit sits perfectly without a belt, while the neutral khaki creates beautiful contrast with the brown blazer above. Business classic formality appropriate for any meeting context.
• Belt — B-011 (Hanks): The Esquire Raised in Havana brown leather with white edge stitching and removable silver buckle. The brown leather coordinates seamlessly with the blazer and shoes while the silver hardware aligns with the tie bar and watch.
• Footwear — DSh-007 (Allen Edmonds): Chocolate brown cap-toe Oxfords in Goodyear welt construction—American craftsmanship at its finest. The Kirby Allison dark brown flat waxed laces complement the premium leather, while the resoleable construction ensures this investment piece develops beautiful patina over time.
• Socks — DSo-081 (Mazarin): Super durable cotton lisle over-the-calf socks in beige from Mes Chaussettes Rouges in Italy. The ribbed construction provides excellent stay-up performance while the light brown hue bridges the khaki slacks and chocolate shoes. Business classic formality—appropriate for any in-person setting.
• Pocket Square — PS-024 (GB Selected): A 15.5" sage green cotton pocket square with large tone-on-tone border. The green picks up the tie's sage celadon, creating intentional color harmony while providing texture contrast against the silk tie.
• Tie Bar — TA-011 (Sonia Jewels): A 2" polished slide-on tie bar in 925 sterling silver. Adds subtle finishing detail while keeping the 4" tie in place during video calls. Silver metal matches the belt buckle and watch case.
• Watch — W-005 (Fossil Pearson): The Pearson multifunction quartz on Havana brown leather with a stunning hunter green dial. Day, date, and 24-hour subdials provide practical functionality while the green dial picks up the sage tones from the tie and pocket square—an intentional color bridge. Worn on the left wrist.
• Business Card Carrier — BCC-002 (Fort Belvedere): Bifold bison leather carrier in brown/tan with silver clasp. The bison grain texture and patina complement the earth-tone story while the silver hardware maintains metal consistency.
• Leather Carry — CRY-002 (Carl Friedrik): The Palissy Double in Italian vachetta leather, chocolate brown. A structured briefcase with brushed silver hardware, 15" laptop sleeve, and Smart Holder for travel. Business formal presence for video calls with employees while remaining appropriate for internal meetings and a medical appointment.
• Pen — P-002 (Montblanc): Montblanc 149 daily pen for notes and planning.
• Wedding Ring — R-001: Always worn.
• Fragrance — FR-004 (Roberto Ugolini Derby): An aromatic green woody extrait featuring herbal notes, green facets, woods, and light spices. The herbaceous character echoes today's sage/green color story while remaining office-safe with moderate sillage. Perfect seasonality for late May—sophisticated without overwhelming.
🎨 Color Story: Earth Tones with Sage Green Accents The outfit builds from a warm brown foundation (blazer, shoes, belt, briefcase) through neutral khaki (slacks) and mocha (shirt), punctuated by intentional sage green accents (tie, pocket square, watch dial). Silver metals unify the accessories.
📅 Tuesday Rule Compliance: NT-049 debuts today as a first-wear item with 0% cost reduction—fulfilling the Tuesday protocol to prioritize items with the smallest percentage reduction from initial cost to cost per wear.
