This is the first time I've ever had seasonal allergies and the daily onslaught has built up to fatigue. I hate taking unnecessary time off but spent the morning resting up a bit and trying some seasonal allergy meds for the first time.
Will restart the day with a client video call and some internal meetings to finish it with progression on our current big project. At the least, the outfit is ready for the day!
Navy tailoring with an oxblood-and-brown accessory story for a client video-conference day
• Suit — SJ-014, SL-023 (Enzo Tovare): A navy two-button suit in lightweight Super 150s wool, pairing a 42R jacket with size-36 trousers. The slight sheen, roped shoulders, and breathable worsted cloth create a polished business-formal presence without looking heavy on camera.
• Shirt — DS-010 (Charles Tyrwhitt): A white non-iron cotton shirt with subtle bird’s-eye twill, a 5.5-inch spread collar, and French cuffs. The crisp white ground provides contrast against the navy suit; it takes 2.25-inch collar stays.
• Undershirt — US-002 (Ralph Lauren Polo): A simple white cotton crew-neck undershirt in size XL. It remains discreet beneath the white twill shirt while providing a comfortable base layer.
• Tie — NT-040 (Nordstrom): The Walden Geo Jacquard is a low-sheen silk tie in taupe, dark brown, and cream with a small repeating geometric motif. Its warm neutrals connect the navy suit to the oxblood leather accessories without competing with the shirt’s subtle texture.
• Pocket Square — PS-005 (Fort Belvedere): A white linen pocket square distinguished by its “U” monogram (funny backstory despite not have a U anywhere in my name). A crisp three-peaks fold preserves the client-ready formality while keeping the suit-and-tie combination visually controlled.
• Belt — B-017 (Nordstrom): A flat oxblood genuine-leather belt with silver buckle hardware, tagged size 32. Its color closely coordinates with the shoes and business card case, creating a deliberate leather story throughout the outfit.
• Footwear — DSh-021 (Cobbler Union): The Marco 722 Derby is made from top-grade European calfskin in oxblood with wine-red depth, sized 10.5 US. Its business-formal profile reinforces the belt while introducing richer color than a conventional black shoe.
• Socks — DSo-063 (Fort Belvedere): Size-large mid-brown cotton dress socks featuring a blue shadow stripe. The brown supports the tie and watch strap, while the blue stripe links back to the navy suit.
• Cufflinks — CL-012 (Unnamed): Gold-plated cufflinks shaped like oval bowls with concentric ripple detailing and T-bar closures. Their warm finish adds a restrained point of contrast at the French cuffs and complements the outfit’s brown and oxblood tones.
• Watch — W-010 (Orient): The 40.5 mm Orient Bambino features a striking red sunburst dial, dark-brown leather strap, and weekly-calendar complication. Its warm red-brown palette fits naturally with the tie, belt, shoes, and wallet while remaining suitably dressy.
• Ankle Watch — W-001 (Apple): The 46 mm slate-titanium Apple Watch is worn on the ankle solely for health and activity tracking. It is not visible and is not considered part of the outfit’s visual harmony.
• Pen — P-006 (Montblanc): The Meisterstück 149 fountain pen combines glossy black precious resin, platinum trim, and a medium 18K nib. It provides a formal, leadership-grade writing instrument for client calls and note-taking.
• Business Card Case — BCC-004 (Fort Belvedere): A structured oxblood leather bifold with silver clasp hardware and a turquoise interior. The exterior repeats the shoe-and-belt color, while the concealed turquoise lining adds personality without reducing formality.
• Wallet — WL-002 (Fort Belvedere): A ten-card bifold in antique-mahogany bullhide with petrol-blue accents and forest-green moiré lining. Its warm leather tone complements the watch strap and tie while remaining distinct from the matching oxblood accessories.
• Wedding Ring — R-001 (Ellie’s Jewelry): The platinum-and-diamond wedding ring remains the outfit’s constant personal accessory. Its cool metal provides a natural bridge to the belt and card case’s silver hardware.
• Fragrance — FR-024 (Tom Ford Oud Wood Parfum): Oud Wood combines cardamom and pink pepper with oud, sandalwood, vetiver, tonka bean, and amber. Its polished woody-spicy character reinforces the outfit’s rich warm accessories while remaining sophisticated for a client-facing workday.
