Monday madness! Lots going on at work and at home. Family arrived home super early so Logan could spend the day both doing his final packing for the dorm and see his girlfriend before heading out (she's a senior). It's an emotionally tricky day for him, no doubt.
Navigating a complex HR issue at the office where I am working to turn a potential release of one employee into a welcomed management challenge for another new hire. The character of the challenging employee is upstanding - he's just very new to working in a professional setting and needs someone to work with him on how to excel in an office environment.
More of a relaxed outfit today to try to help with the potential intensity of the meetings.
Summer blues with classic preppy texture for a video-conference workday:
• Jacket — SJ-015 (Brooks Brothers): A lightweight white-and-mid-blue cotton seersucker jacket with a matte finish and partially lined construction. Its pronounced stripe supplies the outfit’s summer character while remaining polished on camera.
• Trousers — SL-026 (Suitsupply): Mid-blue straight-leg trousers in a summer-weight wool, silk, and linen blend. Their understated plain weave grounds the stronger seersucker texture without resembling an attempted matched suit.
• Shirt — DS-040 (Charles Tyrwhitt): A formal white, non-iron, two-ply cotton-twill shirt with a classic point collar and rounded French cuffs. Use approximately 2.5-inch collar stays—an estimate because the stay size is not recorded in the shirt data.
• Undershirt — US-002 (Ralph Lauren Polo): A simple white cotton crew-neck undershirt that remains discreet beneath the opaque white twill. It adds comfort without affecting the visible color story.
• Tie — NT-050 (Paul Fredrick): A steel-blue and gray silk herringbone tie with silver-white and gold accents scattered through the pattern. Its texture bridges the solid trousers and striped jacket; use a balanced Half-Windsor with the classic point collar.
• Suspenders — SB-001 (Kirby Allison): Navy silk suspenders with white polka dots, black leather button loops, and silver hardware. They reinforce the blue palette while remaining largely concealed and appropriately business formal.
• Pocket Square — PS-010 (Charles Tyrwhitt): A solid white cotton square that provides a clean visual pause against the seersucker jacket. Present it in a crisp TV fold to keep the patterned outfit controlled.
• Footwear — DSh-013 (Brooks Brothers): Light-tan suede dirty bucks with round toes and crepe soles bring classic preppy Americana to the ensemble. Their relaxed formality works especially well with seersucker and is appropriate for a video-conference day.
• Socks — DSo-085 (Kirby Allison): Mid-blue mercerized-cotton dress socks with a subtle horizontal jacquard and slight sheen. The restrained pattern connects the trousers and tie while the extended rib supports reliable stay-up performance.
• Cufflinks — CL-015 (Unnamed): Round plated-silver cufflinks featuring brushed and polished concentric detailing. Their geometric surface adds interest to the French cuffs while coordinating with the suspenders’ silver hardware.
• Watch — W-006 (Fossil): The Fossil Townsman Automatic combines a blue skeleton dial, polished stainless-steel case, gold accents, and a mid-brown leather strap. The blue dial supports the outfit’s core palette, while the brown leather relates naturally to the tan suede shoes.
• Ankle Watch — W-001 (Apple): The slate titanium Apple Watch is worn on the ankle solely for health and activity tracking. It is not a visible sartorial component and is therefore excluded from the outfit’s visual evaluation.
• Pen — P-006 (Montblanc): The Meisterstück 149 fountain pen pairs glossy black precious resin and polished platinum trim with an 18K medium nib. It provides a formal, leadership-grade writing instrument for calls and daily work. Ink color designed to match P3's color palette.
• Business Card Case — BCC-001 (Fort Belvedere): A structured black German aniline-leather case with green goat-velour lining and silver hardware. The black exterior remains business formal, while the concealed green interior adds personality.
• Wallet — WL-001 (Montblanc): The black full-grain calfskin bifold features a subtle carbon-fiber print and a slim open construction. It coordinates with the black leather details in the suspenders and business card case.
• Wedding Ring — R-001 (Ellie’s Jewelry): The platinum-and-diamond wedding ring remains the outfit’s constant personal accessory. Its cool metal naturally complements the cufflinks and other silver-toned hardware.
• Fragrance — FR-026 (Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Parfum): Grey Vetiver layers grapefruit and orange flower over saffron, spice, Haitian vetiver, and oakmoss. Refined, woody, and citrus-forward, it supports the outfit’s modern summer professionalism without conflicting with its traditional preppy elements.
