Tax day, which is something I do not mind. Living in a society means we invest it government run activities. WHAT we fund with the tax money is very political, except for some things like fire fighters.

Beyond working with the accountant, the rest of my day is very financially organized as well given our expansion strategy. As someone who has taught PhD students advanced statistics, accounting is my evil opposite. Stats guys live and learn to love bands of error. Accountants hate it!

The main item I designed around today was the beautiful mottled silk tie in malachite green.

• Jacket — DOJ-009 (Missoni): A sophisticated olive wool jacket from Italian fashion house Missoni, featuring a matte finish and medium-to-heavy weight construction perfect for a cooler spring morning. This single-breasted, 3-button silhouette with notched lapels and no rear vents creates a clean, modern Italian line—ideal for projecting quiet authority during financial strategy discussions.

• Shirt — DS-009 (Nordstrom): A classic white cotton dress shirt with subtle diamond texture weave, lending visual interest without competing with the olive jacket. The point collar pairs beautifully with the knit tie, while the single-button barrel cuffs keep the look accessible yet refined for internal meetings.

• Undershirt — US-003 (Pro Club): A heavyweight white cotton crew neck providing solid coverage beneath the textured dress shirt—no show-through risk.

• Trousers — SL-007 (Santorelli): Tobacco-brown flat-front slacks in luxurious Super 110s wool. The medium drape falls elegantly without heaviness, and the earth-tone color creates a cohesive autumn palette when paired with the olive jacket. A masterclass in separates coordination.

• Tie — NT-043 (Fort Belvedere): A malachite green knit silk tie in Fort Belvedere's signature "Cri de la Soie" (crunchy Swiss silk) construction. The rich green harmonizes beautifully with the olive jacket while adding textural depth. At 3" width and 57" length, it's perfectly proportioned for a classic four-in-hand knot. • Belt — B-014 (Charles Tyrwhitt): Chocolate brown suede leather with silver buckle—a perfect textural companion to the suede Chelsea boots below. The brown leather family stays cohesive throughout.

• Footwear — DSh-010 (Cobbler Union): Dark brown suede Chelsea boots in Goodyear welt construction. The naked (uncapped) toe and almond shape project refined casualness appropriate for video calls, while the Spanish craftsmanship ensures lasting quality. An excellent bridge between business formal and smart casual.

• Socks — DSo-077 (Kirby Allison): Tan dress socks with cream small polka dots—a subtle pattern that coordinates beautifully with the tobacco trousers and brown leather goods. The Kirby Allison quality ensures stay-up performance throughout the day.
