Fun evening German style

My wife’s first language was German so 40 years ago this upcoming New Year’s Eve I proposed to my wife in German which I didn’t yet know at the time. I wrote down what I wanted to say and a German professor at OU helped me say it phonetically. On our thirty fifth anniversary of that proposal I surprised her (see video) with my proposal painted onto a tyrolean pair of shutters I had made for the occasion. We lived in Europe after grad school (where I learned German) and travelled back and forth every three years prior to my son’s birth 16 years into our marriage. Last night we attended the 50th Tulsa Octoberfest. While there were a lot of “costumes” I dressed in the spirit of a fall Germany:
