New seller advice
Hi everyone 👋 Thought I'd introduce myself and ask for a bit of advice from those of you who've been doing this longer than me.
I'm Dave and I've had an Etsy shop for a few years now. I've sold various bits and pieces I've made over that time - 3D printed items, keyrings, magnets, slate coasters etc. Nothing massive, it's always just been a little side project alongside my normal job.
Just over two weeks ago I decided to have a proper go at posters and prints using Print Shrimp. I've really enjoyed the designing side of it and originally set myself a goal of getting 50 designs listed by the end of September. I've already gone past that and I'm at around 60 now, so naturally I've moved the goalposts and I'm heading for 100 😂
The bit I'm unsure about is what to expect at the beginning. I'm not really seeing much traffic yet. Most days have been very quiet, although over the last few days I've started getting the odd view on the poster listings.
Is that fairly normal when you've only been listing for a couple of weeks? Would those of you who've been successful with POD recommend just continuing to design and build the catalogue even when there isn't much happening yet?
I'm happy to keep going and give it time, but obviously every new listing costs money, so there's always that little voice wondering whether I'm building something that just needs time or simply paying Etsy to host a very large collection of posters nobody wants 😂
I'd really appreciate any advice from people who've been through this stage. I'm also completely open to feedback on the shop, designs, mockups, pricing, SEO etc. if anyone fancies having a look. Constructive criticism is very welcome - I'm here to learn.
Thanks!
