Pilates & Coffee Hour is happening in 31 hours
Don't be a Gollum...be an Athina 😀
Story time... Take a walk with me...and let me recount a story to you in the first person. So you really get to feel my pain. I am sitting at my local coffee shop hoping to get some super creative and inspiring work done. "Fill my cup" kind of stuff. I pictured this tranquil environment where I could write some inspiring stuff, sit back and be satisfied with things. Secretly hoping a fish eagle would sore past once I was finished and I could smile on the inside. But my morning creative session is not quite going to plan. Rather than looking like a cool hipster I feel like I am sitting in a fireball while being poked in the eyeballs by lasers. I made the mistake of pre-ordering 2 coffees... Now I am stuck at the only table that is available and the sun is beating down on me. Basically scorching my skin (my wife & the kids says I am very dramatic...I can't understand why). This situation is like the reverse of a sexy cool lifestyle ad you see on tv. Normally the main actor is smiling and loving life. But me...I am sweating profusely, frowning, hunched over my screen and just in general having a miserable time. Basically I look like Gollum from the Lord of the rings. But it made me think of my new friend I made on a trail walk I was on - Athina...the friendly cow. Athina was living her best life. Chilling, eating grass and just generally being an awesome mammal. I think Athina would be someone who would invest in self care. Athina would focus on stretching and mobility and keeping the body functioning at 100%. Rather than being a Gollum. So if you want to be an Athina then head over to our classroom and pick a session for yourself today.

Strong cores come in soft bodies too
Don’t be nervous to step onto your Pilates mat. It’s not about perfection, only presence. Strong cores live in all kinds of bodies, and strength is built one breath, one movement and one class at a time.

The power of pilates
Pilates works from the inside out. Strengthening your core, improving posture, and building long, lean muscles. Consistency is the key: with every class, your body learns, adapts, and transforms.

How to get the most out of the Roll-Up
The Roll-Up is a slow and deliberate movement that should be smooth instead of rushed. Use your exhale to drive the movement deliberately, and use the inhale to regain height and control. Try to peel yourself off the mat like a sticker, letting each vertebrae of your spine move one at a time.
