The most interesting thing I learned from this module and HRV is how much untapped information we have about ourselves that is available via this metric. To not have this information really puts us in a disadvantage when it comes to achieving our potential.
20 minute heartbeat loop-
It took me about 4 minutes to settle in and really relax into this exercise. It was tough to sit for 20 minutes and that right there is going to be a focus for me.
How I would explain HRV to so someone in 2-3 sentences?
We can measure the milliseconds our heart takes to rest from each beat, and get ready and fire the next one. Our ability to interpret, track, train and optimize that number, which is called HRV, will give us an understanding of how our physiological systems are working. Our goal in improving that number is to live in harmony with our body as we play the sport of life.
