Resources to learn about Skool

I'm trying to wrap my head around what Skool is and how businesses use it to monetise. Because I really like the community side of it and connecting with others. So I'm just wondering if anyone has any good resources, or info to breakdown how it works and how to use it as a tool for connection? I'm guessing you pay for it and you can also create private Skool communities? Thought this might be the best place to get my answer!
