For those of you in the renovation space—do you think it’s harder to break into full room renovations (bathrooms, ensuites, laundries, etc.) coming from a carpentry background compared to something like tiling? It seems like tilers can step into that space a bit more naturally and potentially run a tighter, more profitable model, whereas as a carpenter you’re coordinating more trades and carrying more risk. I’m currently weighing things up and considering whether to keep pushing further into internal renovations or pivot more into outdoor spaces (decks, patios, pergolas), where the work is nearly all carpentry based.
