What I Learned from Cold Calling - Jesse Itzler
When Jesse was first starting out, he wanted to feel like he had a real business—so he aimed to get an office. At the time, he lived in a 500 sq ft apartment with a roommate and no space to work.
He struck a deal with a friend who owned a small stock brokerage company:They gave him a tiny office, and in return, he agreed to stay after hours and make cold calls from 6 PM to midnight.
Every day, he was given a list of thousands of names and numbers to call and qualify as leads. He hated it.
5 Reasons to Keep Going
  1. Everyone with a big goal faces doubt, rejection, and grind. After 500+ attempts, that one win can spark belief and hope.If you have hope, you have everything. Don’t lose hope.
  2. The next call could be the one.It might be a sale or open a door. Especially early on—leave no rock unturned.
  3. Keep moving forward. If you keep chipping away, good things happen. You'll also learn what works—and what doesn’t.
  4. Stay in the game.If you're in the game, luck can find you.If you quit, it's over.
  5. Never say you’re not good at sales.Everyone has a bit of sales in them. You can craft the right pitch to match your authentic personality.
