Hi everyone! Here’s a first look at PhoenixWire, the project I’m preparing
PhoenixWire grew out of PhoenixMail, my email application. After integrating Nimiq Cashlinks into emails, I wanted to go further: protect a payment with a verification code sent to the recipient’s email.
Then came a slightly crazy idea: could we bring that experience to NIM, USDC and USDT?
That became PhoenixWire.
One payment. One card. One email.
Choose a currency, enter an amount and the recipient’s email, fund the card, and send it.
The recipient opens the card, confirms their email with a six-digit code, and chooses where to receive the funds. The card link alone isn’t enough to claim a protected payment.
For NIM, you can fund your card directly from Nimiq Pay or Nimiq Wallet, and the recipient can receive their NIM directly into either one.
PhoenixWire supports:
- NIM on Nimiq.
- USDC on Polygon.
- USDT on Polygon or Ethereum.
The sender can also recover the funds while the payment remains unclaimed.
A small preview of the cards
Here are two examples of the actual NIM and USDC cards:

It’s still a work in progress, and the protected claim process relies on the verification service and email delivery.
The goal is simple: make sending crypto feel familiar, with Nimiq’s Cashlink experience at the heart of the idea.
I’d love to hear your thoughts! ( Open public test soon )
Yep, I changed my mind — I’ll be joining Cycle 3 after all, as soon as the registration page is working again! ;)
Was it the prize money, boredom, or just a little madness? Maybe a bit of all three… who knows? ;)
