One of the best books I've read over the years is "10x is Easier than 2x" by Dr. Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan. They also have a book called "The Gap and the Gain," which they reference in 10x.
The Gap = the state of measuring yourself against and ideal or future goal, which leads to general unhappiness about the progress you've made
The Gain = measuring your progress by looking back at how far you've come from your starting points
Often, it can be really easy for us to only see The Gap and forget to celebrate The Gain. Sometimes when we have a particular goal or outcome in mind (especially in $$ y'all) it can be so easy to fall into the trap of only seeing The Gap.
This week I had one of those moments...I know I won't quite hit the goals I set for September, even with my mad dash push. But, I am choosing to see the gains I've made, especially over the last 3 months. And I'm using all of the data and metrics I have to better understand where and why I fell short so I can adjust heading into October.
So - let me ask you...what gains have you made over the month of September that you want to celebrate??
