How do you know you’ve lost enough?
I think I still look a bit big but overall recognise that I’m much smaller on appearance, size and scales etc. I know it’s not just a number, my shape would be improved with strength training and the numbers would go up because muscle weighs more than fat. This is a new journey for me. I’ve been this weight before when I was in my late teens. I’ve not got an adult reference and even if I did it would be different. I’m now in my early 50s, female, in menopause, have early stages of Lipedema and been overweight my whole adult life so I don’t know any different and my skin is damaged. Please share your experiences or thoughts.

Muscle/Strength Building approaches
I’m looking for some clarification regarding the above which is not related to weight loss jabs. Clarification and thoughts on the following: People lose weight or fat first then build Lose and build at the same time Get to your ideal weight which includes muscle or not as muscle weighs more Thanks!

Not only the scale
Scale’s been stubborn this week, but I had a moment yesterday that reminded me why this journey is worth it, and why celebrating the non scale victories is important. Went clothes shopping. For the first time in a long time, I could walk into most stores and things actually fit. Picked up a large, and it worked. But the bit that got me — I stood there and thought about whether I liked it. The colour, the cut, whether it suited me. Old me didn’t get to do that. Old me just bought whatever fit and left quickly. I didn’t need the scale to move to feel like something shifted yesterday.
The Changes Start Before The Weight Loss
People think Mounjaro changes your body first. I don’t think it does. I think it changes your behaviour first and the body transformation comes after. The weight loss is obvious so that’s what everyone notices. But long before the big physical changes happen, smaller things start changing in the background. You stop finishing food just because it’s there. You stop planning your day around your next meal. You stop thinking about snacks constantly. You walk past things in shops that used to call your name. You start making better choices without feeling like you’re fighting yourself every second. That’s the part people who have never experienced Mounjaro don’t fully understand. Most people trying to lose weight aren’t battling information. They already know what foods are healthier. They’re battling hunger, cravings, food noise, impulse eating and a brain that never seems to switch off. Then suddenly for the first time in years, things feel quieter. And once your behaviour changes consistently, your body starts following. That’s why so many people say this feels different from every diet they’ve ever tried before. Because it is.
The Changes Start Before The Weight Loss
Week 4 update
Good morning all, I've just taken my 5th dose last night and moved up to the second titration dose of 0.5mg (ozempic/Wegovy). I've had a good week following the scales staying the same last week. I'm down 1.8kg this week. So my total for month one is 4.4kg. I'm thrilled with that. Side effects wise, for me constipation is the main one and I had been managing it satisfactorily with including psyllium Husk supplements and trying my best with water intake, however I had to return to taking iron supplements last week for anaemia and even only taking one (galfer) every second day it completely shut down my bowel....I just can't sustain it with the added impact of the injection also being constipating too. I felt wretched for most of the week that I was on it. Like I'd be hit by a bus. So my question to you all is has anyone tried any non-constipating iron supplements? I will discuss with my GP also and see what his advice is. Other than that I'm a happy woman, 9lbs lighter and it's my birthday this week! My husband laughed at me for trying to decide between having a slice of (homemade) cheesecake or meringue (homemade) with cream and strawberries for my birthday cake as I told him if I'm going to indulge and have a lot of calories on a treat I don't want to waste the opportunity by choosing something without protein in it! 🤣 Who is this person!!!! Have a fab week everyone!
