Anti Mounjaro?
I got a comment on my socials on a video about Mounjaro saying they were anti Mounjaro. No hate towards them at all. It was actually a supportive comment overall. But it did make me think. Why are some people so anti Mounjaro or anti weight loss medication in general? I completely get that these medications can be misused. I also get that some people may take them and not do much work around food, exercise or lifestyle. But that can happen with almost anything. For me, you still get back what you put in. Mounjaro has changed my health in a way that is hard to explain unless you have lived in a body that felt under serious pressure every day. The strain off my body, my breathing, my heart, my fitness and even just moving around day to day is completely different now. So when I see people totally against GLP-1s, I do wonder what part they are actually against. Is it the medication itself? Is it people using help to lose weight? Is it the fear of long-term use? Is it because they think it is the easy way out? I’d be interested to know what others think. Have you had people comment negatively about you using Mounjaro or another GLP-1? And if so, what did they say?

Jealousy, ignorance, fear, stigma related to obesity to name a few.
Split dose
Tried last night so will top up in a few days. Not convinced it’s going to work. I use Shotsy app - naturally the dose levels predictions are lower as I’ve topped up with half the dose. Let’s see.

@Mark Fearon no problem. We know 😂 anyway I must admit I’m a bit surprised the split plan hasn’t worked. I don’t feel well today and I feel like how I felt about six weeks ago when I increased my dose when I was doing it weekly and it took about two or three weeks from my body to adjust. Split dose: I did my usual dose on Friday 60% and I did the other 40% last night. It’s the same weekly dose I’ve been having for six weeks and been fine for the last 3 to 4. I was hoping the split dose was going to work that in fact I was going to try and slightly reduce my dose.

@Mark Fearon after the split dose week. I took a slightly lower dose the day after my usual weekly jab day. I’ll go back to weekly and monitor. The split week made me feel unwell as mentioned like I have done in the past when increasing my doses. Funny enough, I’ve only felt unwell when I creased 10mgs upwards. I don’t remember anything lower.
Mounjaro Injection Sites
For the first ten months on Mounjaro, I never really felt much difference between injection sites. I used my stomach, upper thighs and the back of my arm and if anything, I thought my stomach was my best area. That has completely changed over the last couple of months. My stomach has gone from being my go-to area to the one place I now avoid. I can’t say for certain why. I’ve lost over 12 stone from my heaviest and I do have loose skin around my stomach now, so maybe I’m not hitting the fatty area the same way I used to. Maybe absorption has changed. I genuinely don’t know. But I do know how it feels. When I inject into my thigh or the back of my arm, the Mounjaro feels much more effective for me. There is no comparison at the moment. It’s a good reminder to pay attention to your own body. What worked at the start might not always feel the same later on. Has anyone else noticed a difference depending on where they inject?

I thought there was no evidence to suggest that injection sites makes no difference to absorption, effectiveness and side effects experienced?
10wks in - 7.5mg
Hi All, I am currently 10 weeks into my Mounjaro journey, started at 2.5mg before moving up to 5mg and now at 7.5mg... lost a couple of lbs and in the process of moving upto 10mg in the next two weeks. My experience hasn't been what I expected to be honest, felt nothing and had no side effects at 2.5 & 5mg (not complaining), at 7.5mg ive had a little heart burn and slight reduction in food noise but nothing major, I kind of feel I have no choice but to move upto 10mg but must admit its a little disheartening when others have great results at smaller dosages (I know we all react differently) just wondering if anyone else has had similar circumstances with Mounjaro? How long have you been on 7.5 mg and what’s been the results?
Are fasting and low carb a mistake on Mounjaro?
I think fasting and going low carb while using Mounjaro can sometimes be a mistake. That does not mean either approach is automatically bad. Some people genuinely enjoy fasting and others feel better eating fewer carbs. But there is a difference between choosing an eating style that suits you and forcing yourself into another extreme diet because you believe you need to be as strict as possible. Mounjaro already reduces hunger and food noise. For me, one of its biggest benefits is that it gives us the chance to move away from the approaches that repeatedly failed us before. We should not need to combine it with tiny calories, long periods without food, cutting out entire food groups or feeling guilty whenever we eat something we enjoy. A lot of us have followed those plans before. We managed them for a few weeks or months and lost some weight. Then life happened, we could not maintain the restrictions and we eventually returned to our old habits. That is how we risk wasting the opportunity Mounjaro gives us. The goal should not be to lose as much weight as possible in the shortest amount of time. It should be to build a way of eating that still works when life gets busy, when we go out for dinner, when we have a holiday and when we eventually reduce or stop the medication. Use this time to learn balance. Eat carbohydrates. Go out for meals. Have the pizza. Track your calories if it helps you stay aware of your intake. Then move on without guilt or panic. The goal is not to become better at extreme dieting. It is to build something you can realistically continue long term. I would be interested to hear everyone’s thoughts. Have you found yourself becoming more restrictive since starting Mounjaro or has it helped you finally move away from strict dieting?

I agree. Though everyone is different with preferences and suitability. I reduce my frequency of eating and try to reduce my carbs but nothing hardcore. It works for me but flexible with it all. I try to reduce my consumption rather than weigh food or calorie count.
