AMA with Coach Mila | December 9
Great job, everyone. Thanks to @Alex Understated, @Yanan Wang, @Rory Yuan, @Shirley Lee, @Kiki Jiang, and @Qingping Jiang for your tricky questions and focused practice today! P.S.: @Yanan Wang I understand your doubts about my answer today -- I probably would too 😊 Let’s ask Coach Shane to help us out! @Shane Peterson Example #1 (here I'm pretty sure): At the principles' level For "principles" (as in at the principles’ level), American English speakers normally do not add an extra syllable because "principles" already ends in an /z/ sound. At the principles’ level → At the PRIN-suh-pulz level Example #2 (here I'm not sure): Bill Gates' daughter How do people usually pronounce this apostrophe (’) in "Bill Gates' daughter"? Should we add a syllable like Gates’ → GAYTS-iz? YouGlish found this video (see attached), and there's no extra syllable added. See you next time!

How do we pronunce these?
I have been struggling pronuncing the words together like “They scored the first goal”. In this sentence tough one for me is “SCORED THE”. Do we reduce speed here or not pronunce “D”? Also in these sentence “He kicked the ball“ , “They screamed with joy”.
