"The Hollywood Bowl opened on July 11, 1922, in a natural amphitheater in the Hollywood Hills originally known as Daisy Dell. Chosen for its exceptional natural acoustics, the iconic Los Angeles venue became the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and a legendary stage for global music icons." My sister-in-law gave my sister and me two tickets to the a jazz concert at the Hollywood Bowl. The line-up included Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Tower of Powe. The double bill combined New Orleans brass jazz with Oakland soul and funk. If you have time , you can picnic at the Hollywood Bowl by arriving up to four hours before concert gates open to claim one of 14 designated onsite picnic areas. The weather was very nice that night. We had a great time.
