Republic of Arrān (Not Azerbaijan)
The REAL Azarbaijan (Ancient Iranian Form: Azarpādgān • Medieval Iranian Form: Azarbādgān) is the territory that is still in Iran as provinces in the North West of the country like it always have been because Azaris are ethnic Iranians (Iranic People) and not Turks.
The Azeris originally spoke an Iranian language of their own before they were influenced by the Ottoman Empire in the cities to become Turkish speakers especially after the fact that Turkic invaders of Central Asia imposed their language upon these ethnic Azari Iranians
These Azeri Iranians had no choice to become Turkish speakers because they were occupied for few centuries by Turks of Central Asia and there was no Iranian Government of their own present like the Sassanid Dynasty for many centuries to preserve their Azeri Iranian language and they were influenced by the Ottoman Empire in the cities to become Turkish speakers due to business and commercial exchanges which made these ethnic Iranian Azeris into Turkish speakers however fortunately in the villages and rural territories the Azeris still speak their native Iranian Pahlavi language (Documented by Ahmad Kasravi the Iranian intellectual) like their Zoroastrian Iranian ancestors thus the real Turks come from Central Asia and are of Mongolian roots
It must noted even the term "Azarpādgān" which is the original ancient spelling of "Azerbaijan" is an Iranian term which literally means "Place of Fire" that originates from the Zoroastrian Heritage of Iran and has nothing in connection with anything Turkish

Republic of Arrān (Not Azerbaijan):
The illegitimate country that exists on the northern border of Iran in the Caucasus region next to the Caspian Sea that goes by the hijacked name Azerbaijan (Republic of Azerbaijan) was actually an Iranian province known as "Arrān" under the Qajar Dynasty in 1813/1828 prior to it being separated and ceded to the Russian Empire after the Russian Military takeover of these ethnic Iranians known as "Arrānis" in the early 19th Century
Unfortunately during the Soviet Union when Arrān was still under Russian control they underwent decades of historical brainwashing by the Communists for the purpose of "Arrānis" to forget their Iranian roots and after the collapse of the Soviet Union the opportunistic Pan-Turk forces seized the opportunity to push their historical revisionism and propegagda to establish a fake so-called Turkic country with a hijacked name known as "Republic of Azerbaijan" because the Islamic Republic which is an Anti-Iranian regime had no interest in re-claiming Arrān as it's own again whereas if the patriotic Pahlavi Dynasty of Iran was still in power they would have absolutely tried to legally re-join Arrān to Iran as an Iranian province again and prevented Pan-Turkist forces from establishing such an artificial illegitimate country in 1991
This is why we Iranians especially true Azeris like myself justifyably have no respect for this artificial illegitimate country known as Republic of Azerbaijan because they have hijacked the Iranian word to be the name of their country and more importantly they refuse to be intellectually honest by acknowledging their Iranian roots because they have been brainwashed by almost 200 years of Russian and Pan-Turkist propegagda to deny this fact unfortunately the only people in Baku that know the truth are a few of their well informed intellectuals and historians who frequently get censored to prevent the truth from getting into their public
If they want Iranians to respect them they must at least use the proper name of that area which is "Arrān" and not use our Iranian "Azerbaijan" name because it's clear that what they are attempting to do is somehow separate our Azerbaijan provinces using their Pan-Turkist propegagda to somehow suggest that our Azerbaijan provinces are not ours even though it is for sure and infact we have more of a historical claim to Arrān than they do to Azerbaijan provinces
