Bill Maher is Right
This started out as a comment on Adam Feder's post, "I Haven’t Changed, the Left Has-Bill Maher’s Ideological Rupture and the Possibility of Voting Republican." https://www.skool.com/libertypolitics/i-havent-changed-the-left-has-bill-mahers-ideological-rupture-and-the-possibility-of-voting-republican But this rings very true for me, so I thought that with all due respect to Adam that I would make that comment my debut post. I wonder how many people here are former Democrats or "progressives"? Give me an idea in the comments, please. . I’m with Bill Maher. I was a Democrat for over 30 years, but they started to lose me when they turned on Israel and, thus, the Jewish people. 20 years ago I was a regular on Daily Kos as Karmafish and we were about as far-left at the time as the Democratic Party got. Hell, I voted for Ralph Nader in 2004. For those of you who do not know, Daily Kos was one of the most prominent and active progressive-left political blogs back in the day. It was a place to speak with the grassroots of the party and I used to say dKos was like a house with many rooms. The sign of one room read “feminism,” on another “environmentalism” and so on and so forth. But down a long hall hidden deep in the house was a room with a terrible smell with a sign that read “Israel-Palestine.” It reeked and rats scurried in and out. After that I began to reappraise the progressive-left and the Democratic Party more critically. I voted for Obama the first time around, but by 2012 I was very definitely out. And now it’s much worse! As you see in my profile, there is no way in hell that I am going to support a political party that confuses children on gender, that spreads hatred toward Jews and “Zionists” and that supports hiring and university admittance based on race. And now they’re openly flirting with socialism? AOC is cute, but she’s not THAT cute.

Former democrat/progressive here 💕 I didn’t realize what was going on until 7 Oct when the talk about “rights” suddenly didn’t apply to raped women, and wveryone started saying Frew Palestine and “asking questions” to random Jews they know. I really did not see that coming at all.. the isolation was quick! Since then, I have seen it was happening for years and I was caught up in trying to “do whats right” and advocated for others, so I thought. I am now center right 💕 And we have been listening to some country music lately so I’ll be far right in a few months I’m sure 😜😜 This conversation was had in a live stream chat not long ago, I want to say 4-5 of us at that time were in there and identified ourselves, but I’m sure there are more! And welcome in!!! First post down ✨ have you checked out the discussion sessions? They’re all linked in the calendar tab, and there are a few a day if I’m not mistaken. Hope to see you there! You can bring this topic up to Armin and the other members can chime in! You’re definitely not alone in this homeless/transitional space!!

Let's take a moment to remember our fallen
Taken from Facebook: The war with Iran has claimed one of North Texas' own. Army Pvt. #IsabellaGonzales of Carrollton was killed Friday during an Iranian missile and drone attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan. She was just 19 years old. The Pentagon identified Gonzales on Monday, along with 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii. Feehan, who died Saturday. Both soldiers were supporting Operation Inherent Resolve—the American-led military mission formed to defeat ISIS. Gonzales was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, part of the 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command based in Ansbach, Germany. Wars are often measured in strikes, strategy, and casualty totals. But behind every number is a name, a hometown, and a family receiving unimaginable news. For North Texas, that name is Isabella Gonzales. She was a soldier. She was from Carrollton. And she was only 19 years old.
