Hi everyone 👋, this week I had the honour of presenting at the 12th MND Australia Care Forum.
It was such a privilege to be part of a room full of health professionals, researchers, carers, and people with lived experience, all coming together to re-imagine how MND care can look in Australia. The focus was clear: high-quality care doesn’t just improve daily life — it gives people with MND more precious time with their loved ones. And that’s everything.
Being able to share practical strategies on wellbeing and communication was more than just a presentation. It was a reminder of why I do what I do. Living with MND can be relentless — every day brings new challenges. But what gets me out of bed each morning is having purpose. My purpose is to advocate. To speak up for better care. To raise awareness. To remind people that you can still thrive, even with MND.
Purpose gives me fuel when things feel tough. It gives me direction when my body doesn’t always cooperate. And it gives me hope that, one day, with enough voices and enough action, we’ll find a cure.
I'd love to know what’s one purpose, big or small, that keeps you moving forward when life feels hard?
Because resilience isn’t just about bouncing back — it’s about having a reason to keep going.
