I've done cold sms outreach for the past couple of days and I've sent out maybe 3000-4000 cold sms, the thing is that ive sent them without opt out language the "Reply STOP to unsubscribe" thing and one guy answered my sms and told me that he was going to report me to TCPA because it was a violation to the TCPA law in the US which makes it illegal to send out sms messages to individuals in the US without their consent if your not using correct opt out language.
I had no idea this was a thing so I asked chat GPT and apparently if you send out an sms message to someone in the US without correct opt out messaging you can get a fine of $500-$1500 per sms that doesn't follow the correct opt out rules.
Before I started sending out sms messages I had no idea this was a thing and I know many youtubers that have videos on SMS outreach that dont use the opt out messaging and one time I even asked in a post here on skool how to get rid of the opt out messaging and I got some advise on how to do it, so Im not sure how seriously to take this, obviously it's a bit worrying that im potentially going to be $1.5 mil in debt... Does anyone know more about this? maybe some advise on what to do.
