Where do you usually place a QR code inside your KDP book to offer a freebie in exchange for an email address — at the beginning (e.g. after the introduction) or at the end of the book?
My thinking is this: a truly engaged reader — someone who wants more and is ready to go deeper — will scan the code even if it’s at the very end.
But realistically… how many people today actually read all the way to the last page?
So I’m wondering whether it’s smarter to place the QR code earlier — at a point where you still have the reader’s attention — rather than relying on completion.
Curious what has worked for you in terms of actual email sign-ups and reader behavior, not just theory.
