I've been late with posting one of these updates, but late is better than never. The May calendar is finally updated to reflect all of this month's premium member calls. I also just updated the classroom to include last week's live call on paperback cover creation. ➡️ Also, I just wanted to announce that there are going to be some upcoming changes later this month to the classroom. I'm planning to consolidate a lot of the content so that the classroom doesn't feel so cluttered and has a clearer path of where to go. I will be keeping you posted When those changes go live. Book Formatting Tools: Atticus vs Affinity
Atticus vs. Affinity: Which Book Formatting Tool Should You Use? One question that comes up a lot with self-publishing is: What tool should I use to format my book? Two options worth looking at are Atticus and Affinity, and they both have their place depending on the type of book you’re creating. Atticus is a one-time investment, but it’s very beginner-friendly. If you’re creating a text-heavy book like a nonfiction book, workbook, journal with written sections, or even a novel, Atticus is probably going to feel much easier to use. Here’s where Atticus really shines: - Beginner-friendly with a low learning curve - Great for text-heavy books - Helpful for nonfiction, workbooks, journals, and novels - Pretty self-explanatory once you get inside the tool - Lets you create both print and ebook files - Allows you to include full-page images when needed - Saves time if you don’t want to design every page from scratch Affinity, on the other hand, is better if you want a more custom, design-heavy book. Think: highly visual workbooks, planners, full-color interiors, activity books, coffee table-style books, or books where you want more control over the layout. Here’s where Affinity stands out: - Free to use - Better for custom, design-oriented books - Gives you more control over page layouts - Helpful for books with lots of images, graphics, or visual elements - Better for full-color interiors or highly styled pages - More flexible if you want every page to look different - Great option if you’re willing to learn a more advanced design tool But here’s the tradeoff: Affinity has a steeper learning curve. It gives you more design freedom, but that also means you’ll need to understand more about layouts, margins, bleeds, image placement, exports, and print setup. So my simple recommendation is this: If you want easy, fast, beginner-friendly formatting, go with Atticus. If you want custom design control and you’re willing to learn the tool, try Affinity.

Thanks for this! I’ve been using Canva for my journals and Word for my first book. But I want to try one of these for my workbook! Which one do you use the most, @Krista Brea
Featured Book: AI for Busy Professionals
Huge congratulations to @Gemma Coles she just launched her very FIRST book, AI for Busy Professionals and now she is looking for early readers of her book. It is currently available on Amazon kindle for FREE until Friday. If you would like to support her at no additional cost, please grab a free copy, and leave an honest review. ABOUT THE BOOK: Feeling overwhelmed by AI? Think everyone else is ahead? If you’re confused by Copilot, ChatGPT, or AI inside Microsoft 365 - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook - you’re not alone. Most “AI for beginners” books overcomplicate things. This one doesn’t. No jargon. No tech speak. No long courses. Just clarity, confidence, and real-world results. ➡️ BUY THE PAPERBACK FOR ONLY $9.99

So great! Congrats again, @Gemma Coles! 🚀
#1 New Release
This is a PROUD moment for me to highlight that @Gemma Coles has OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED 🚀 her book 📖 AI FOR BUSY PROFESSIONALS she’s been working closely with me on my VIP tier and actually implemented everything exactly as it was taught, not picking and choosing, not skipping steps, but executing the full strategy from start to finish. And here’s the result… her book already hit #1 New Release in its category. That doesn’t happen by luck. It’s not random. That’s what it looks like when the right strategy meets consistent execution. Most people focus only on “getting the book published,” but the real leverage is in how you launch it. The positioning, the category selection, the early traction, those are the pieces that push a book into visibility fast. Takeaway for your own launch: If you want momentum early, don’t wait until your book is live to start thinking about marketing. Build it into your launch. - Choose categories where ranking is actually achievable - Get early readers lined up before launch day - Drive immediate activity (downloads, clicks, engagement) in those first few days That early window is everything. When you hit it right, Amazon starts working for you instead of you chasing sales after the fact. If you would like to support Gemma, please grab a copy of her book it's only $9.99 on Amazon and I promise you will learn more than a thing or two! (p.s. - I've already ordered my copy and it's on the way 😉)
