Finally! Solved my problems with Kindle Create
I've been having trouble with publishing my ebooks and having them format correctly and look good. Here is what I have found out:
- you can't use a word doc or PDF file to upload your manuscript.
- If you use Kindle Create, here is what you need to know - there are two main formats for uploading, one is the reflowable option (it allows the user to set font, font size, etc.) the other is the [Print Replica] option. Both are found on the left side of the opening kindle create screen. there is also an option for comics.
- the reflowable option is for TEXT ONLY (no images)
- The Print Replica is for manuscripts with a combo of text and images. It produces a fixed format file that can't be manipulated by the reader.
- Inside either you can add themes and special characters, etc. I like mine clean.
- Watch the type file you save from KC - you want it to be a .kcb file to upload to KDP.
- after you can download the file as an EPUB
