Canadian phone number on Credit Karma
I have about 10 months of U.S. credit history, but both Credit Karma and Apple Card are asking me to complete ID verification with a U.S. ID instead of verifying me automatically.
Could this be happening because I’m using a Canadian phone number on my accounts? Since Canadian numbers also use the +1 country code, I thought they were usually treated the same as U.S. numbers for verification purposes.
Has anyone else experienced extra identity verification because of using a Canadian number, even with some established credit history?
