Reclaiming Health
Had a massive win this morning and broke through an intense plateau, achieving a new milestone in this cutting phase. 269.3 lbs, 31 pounds down since August 23rd. The lowest body weight I’ve had since Lily has been born, while still maintaining a good level of strength and massively improved mobility and cardio base. Here’s what made it happen: 1.) That 500 lbs squat changed me. When you put yourself in such an intense experience with The Impossible where you have to pull more out than you ever dreamed you would have access to, you can fundamentally change in 10 seconds. 2.) I have finally dedicated myself to a Purpose so great that anything that could compromise that Mission is not even remotely tempting. All I see is the work to be done and the victory that will ensue. 3.) I have built so much respect and love for myself, for who I’m building, that I want to see that man win. This is maybe the most crucial step. Still more work to be done, but this progress feels amazing…and it just makes me want to work harder 👊🏻❤️‍🔥 What are the greatest challenges you’ve faced in your Life and how do you work every day to overcome them? 🙏🏻

First Backyard Ultra
Didn't hit my 50 mile goal, but did get 8 solid laps in before my breathing was failing. I'm not sure what was happening, my heart rate was kn control (130-140 bpm), my legs felt good all things considered, but was panting most of my last lap. Going to keep pushing and try it again in spring.

HELLO!
Hello all! Currently a heavy (physically and numerically) endurance runner. In the works to run a Backyard Ultra this Saturday, October 4th. Goal is to get minimum 12 loops (hours / 50 miles), but don't stop until I'm broken. Currently also working on starting an 8 hour Backyard Ultra in Marysville OH on Nov 15 or Nov 22 2025. Still working with City to lock it down. Talk to yall soon.
The Full Marathon Returns 😎
I’m going for the Full Marathon again this year with only 28 days of training, and Austin is joining me 🙏🏻 Here is my basic plan for building the Impossible version of myself most capable of succeeding in this venture: 1.) Lose as much weight as possible to make myself lighter for each step, especially on the prosthetic side (27 lbs down since 8/25). 2.) Daily journaling/meditation (I will expand on this massively in subsequent posts). 3.) As many miles as possible from now til 10/12 (logged 5 miles on my farthest run so far). I had absolutely no intentions of attempting the full this year, I haven’t ran at all since the marathon in 2024, and especially with all my effort focused on the 500 lbs Squat this year. But I’ve always signed up for the Full every year since I failed it in 2023 just in case lol (if you know me, this will make total sense to you 😂). The thing is…that 500 lbs Squat changed me. I didn’t come out from under that bar the same man, and even as I limped my first laps around Civitan Park in the early days of this training block, the only words going through my head were “I could run a Marathon right now…” Welcome to The Impossible ❤️‍🔥
