Building a Skool community is like running a Marathon!
Sharing my Skoolers post here because we are ALL building here too! I started running in 2012 to lose baby weight, but it quickly became something much deeper, a growth journey. I had to become a completely different person to achieve the goals I wanted. To go the distance, to endure, to keep showing up. Along the way, I left behind friends, relationships, workplaces, beliefs, mindsetsโ€ฆ you name it. When I started my Skool community, it was to make an impact, to connect, to build something meaningful. But in the process, I realized I was also building myself. Because if you truly want to lead, thereโ€™s a level of inner work no one really warns you about. Iโ€™ve had access to proven formulas, courses, support. Iโ€™ve hired people and invested money to build this. But just like with a marathon: NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE, can run this race for me. I can have everything lined up, but if I donโ€™t show up, I donโ€™t move forward. It requires me to BE to keep going when Iโ€™m running for hours alone to keep posting when no one comments or shares to be my own cheerleader. Not expecting praise, recognition, or validation but doing it for me. For the person Iโ€™m becoming. And honestlyโ€ฆ it can feel so lonely sometimes. People, even family donโ€™t always understand. They call me crazy. They tell me to play it safe, to drop the race, to not push too hard, to just focus on the 9โ€“5. Those are their fears but I feel them too. Because building something on your own means carrying a lot: The long hours creating content that feels unseen (even though thatโ€™s not the full truth), clients who stay private and donโ€™t share their wins ,being a single mom, supporting parents with Alzheimerโ€™sโ€ฆ Itโ€™s a LOT. But hereโ€™s what Iโ€™ve realized: I need to level up again. And thatโ€™s exactly what I do in marathons. I donโ€™t quit. I level up. Because I know the reward goes far beyond the finish line. So if youโ€™re here feeling discouraged or hopeless, thereโ€™s no shortcut. You have to put in the sweat, the tears, the work, the reps no one wants to do (myself included). Itโ€™s not easy and itโ€™s not supposed to be. If it were, it wouldnโ€™t be this meaningful or life-changing.

Whereโ€™s the Skool Bus?
Late Intro ๐Ÿ
I am a Certified Trauma and Resilience Life Coach (CTRLC), Trauma Educator, Consultant, Coaching Mentor, and Advocate. I live in the Western region of New York (WNY) and I am south of Buffalo (Go Bills!) in a little town, in a little house under pine trees. Surrounded by animals, and stray cats. I have three cats of my own, one of which I rescued from outside. If only I could take them all in! I have a background in non-profit mental health as a peer education coordinator, coach, trauma support, and lead advocate for Western NY advocating for Mental Health Education in schools and support for Veterans. I also put together conferences for trauma survivors and spoke on stages for the Mental Health Association of New York State. I am now an advocate for coaching industry reform after facing the unique challenges of transitioning from providing in person services to the wild west of the online coaching space and have taken a proactive approach towards change. - My favorite color is green. ๐Ÿ’š - My favorite Pokemon, I had another one listed but I am really drawn to Dragonair (I never had a favorite one or had interest in this until I joined here and now I have no idea where to start learning. Is there a Pokemon Handbook? What should I be watching?) - My biggest Skool struggle at the moment? Figuring out how to set it up right from the beginning so I don't have to tear down and re-do things. I am a chronic pain patient with a disability. Going all in is a big deal and I need to make the time + energy that I put into this count as much as possible. - Fun facts about me: I have a Pay It Forward Service Model and do my best to push through systemic barriers that try to trap me with tenacity, creativity, heart, and philanthropy. Killing it with joy where possible, and coming for everything they try to take and deplete from me. I have a Cadaver bone in my foot from doctors human error (I am cool with it๐Ÿ’ฉ happens) two different doctors worked on me. You can absolutely tell a difference and my toe is a party trick for Halloween at this point.
