PARENTS - WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?
Guys, I received a DM from a parent this week and, with their permission, wanted to share it here šŸ‘‡ Their son has played for the same team for three years. Never missed games. Turned up every week. Fully committed. šŸ’™āš½ A few weeks ago, he picked up an injury and had to miss a handful of matches šŸ¤• During that time, the coach put an outfield player in goal. When the young keeper returned to training, fit and ready to play, the coach told him he would only get half a game, because he now had to ā€œfight for his placeā€. This really upset both the parent and the goalkeeper (who is still very young). After three years of loyalty, it felt unfair and confusing šŸ˜” The parent spoke to the coach to explain how much this had knocked her son’s confidence — to the point where he started saying he didn’t want to play in goal anymore šŸ’”šŸ§¤ The coach’s response?ā€œWhat would you do if your head was on my shoulders?ā€ Now, I know some grassroots coaches — especially at kids’ level — look in the mirror and see Pep Guardiola staring back at them šŸ˜… But parents and goalkeepers…What would you do in this situation? UPDATE: Just found out that the stand in goalkeeper does not want to stay in goal - Was only playing to help out.
PARENTS - WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?
Not enjoyable
So Archie u10 grassroots team just beat Norwich development 33_0. Now if I was parents of a child in the Norwich development centre I wouldn't be happy with the training or how they played if I was paying for it. Hears my question are these developments centers just for the money
Is playing multiple sports good or bad for goalkeepers?
My son started his GK journey about 2 years ago and it’s all that he’s ever played sports wise. So I’m interested in seeing if anyone has played multiple sport to help with their craft. If yes, please tell me what sport you think would be best. Thank you.
