League winners
After the club folded last year what remained was bought back to life re built and continued with the hard work of the new coaching team! Starting from scratch in the Exeter district league the boys topped the division only loosing 1 match out of 20. Now promoted we look for to the next season đ§€đ§€

Tournament 2
Trip down to play some Plymouth teams and what an experience for the boys. Semi final, undeafeted, no goals conceded and down to penalties yet again. It wasnât to be Jenson saved a pen and so did there keeper and one of the boys missing sudden death it was all over. Great strong teams but what can we say about the parents đ€Ż Trying to influence the game with throw in decisions and really shouting at there kids. Boys came off a little annoyed but certainly teams weâll be looking to play against more often.

Tournament winners
Jenson team came out champions league winners of there first tournament of the year. itâs always a great tournament this one with top 4 of each table going through for a champions league or europa final. tough draw for the boys whoâve recently been promoted from Division 2 to division 1. 3 Div 1 teams in our group including the Div 1 league winners. Undefeated in every match. Didnât concede a goal and the final it came to penalties. 5 great pens and A save from Jenson made for a well deserved tournament win.

Other than football whatâs your favourite hobby? Jenson loves planes and weâre lucky weâre on a flight path but planes are still quite high so we took a trip to Heathrow to watch the planes land.

Players being released from academies or even grass roots teams
Speaking with other players/parents it seems that every one has rollercoaster of emotions and journeys. Would be interested to see how many have been released from academies or even grass roots teams and at what ages that was ? To help others any advice on what you did next or how this affected you ? Every one seems to want academy football, but how many realise how demanding it is for players and parents and understand the different pressures that brings to them also ?

Jenson plays in grass roots on a Sunday but heâs good at what he does so weâre lucky heâs not got any competition for his place. He played JPL for a local team but the coach was horrific, biased and appeared decision making was influenced by parents. We choose to leave and couldnât have been happier. His football has improved and joined a Saturday league team to replace JPL whereâs his continued to improve. Heâs now on trial for a JPL team, weâre seeing where he is talent wise and theyâve asked for an extension so we can only see at as a positive. JPL isnât everything you ca have great Saturday and Sunday football in normal leagues. Be positive and good things will come.
