2nd trial game vs Sunderland and a clean sheet for Chesterfield
Overall a good weekend for Mason. Played for Chesterfield on Saturday Unfortunately I couldn't watch so no details but to get a clean sheet against the top scorers of the league, I assume he had a good game.
Sunday he played Sunderland and got off to a jittery start. He received a backpass and opened his body up well but he didn't realise there was a player bearing down on him and as he tried to clear, he was tackled and conceded. This knocked his confidence and from then on he didnt want to take any risks so 1st time cleared the next few back passes. At the break he was able to reset and compose himself and from then on, he smashed it. He was confidently received back passes and played 3 fantastic balls forward to create counter attacks. Also made 3 good saves to help his team take the win.
Key factor was when he was able to regain his composure. This is why mindset is so important. 1 mistake can ruin your whole game. Been able to bounce back and play at your best is what every footballer aspires to.
