Question on Types of Internal Struggles
A question for those of you with more literary theory ...
Which types of character flaws work best in supporting interesting character arcs? Which work best for layered and complex character conflicts? As I have been starting to read up I have seen labels of flaws, fears, and misbeliefs.
On a first read, it seems that characters are often self aware of their own flaws and fears but are not aware of their misbeliefs. Could this create more depth for roleplay where the misbelief is first revealed, then understood by the character, then overcome?
Are there other useful categories or a good list of examples of each that you might share with players?
