Story Time…👀👀
Tonight was cold, rainy, and already dark even though it was only 7. One of those gray New England November nights where the whole world just feels tired. The roads were slick with wet leaves and everything outside the windshield looked blurry. 🍂
I was taking the backroads across town (the quickest way, but honestly probably the creepiest at night.) Not many streetlights or houses. Just woods and that kind of quiet that makes you notice your heartbeat.🪾🌕
I’m just driving along and all of a sudden this thought pops into my head:🧠💭
“What if someone is in my back seat right now?” 🔪
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
My chest dropped. 💔
One hand on the wheel, the other kind of hovering near the overhead light, going back and forth with myself like:
“If I turn the light on and look, I’ll know.”
“But if I turn the light on and something actually is there… then what?” 😳😳😳
So I didn’t turn it on.
I just kept driving.
Eyes forward.
But checking the rearview every few seconds like clockwork.
(Those quick little glances where you try to pretend you’re not looking…but you are.) 👀👀
The whole time telling myself:
“Just focus. You’re fine. Just get there.”
I made it. ✅
And the drive back?
Not a single thought about it.
Like the fear just evaporated. ✨
So now I’m curious…. 🤨🧐
Has this ever happened to you?
