Sitting all day
As comfy as they are your body wasn't built for a chair and sitting all day.
Every hour you sit, hip flexors tighten, your glutes switch off, and your metabolism slows to a crawl. If you're like me you might get a tight neck, sore shoulders and pains in your lower back.
While training during your week helps, these are more immediate fixes you should look to implement too. You need to move and break up the seating pattern.
  • Stand for calls if you can, if not stand up after calls, and take a stroll around for a few minutes
  • Walk 10 min after you eat (great for metabolism and blood sugar)
  • Timer to stand every 45–60 min (not a fan of this but it does work)
  • 2x/week: deadlifts, carries, rows are all great options for posture.
Small movements, repeated often, beats one big workout undoing a full day of sitting.
Unfortunately if you're sitting all day you need to start doing this, try to avoid crossing your legs or sitting in a slumped position.
Don't let it take a pain or sore back to start making these changes.
