⏳ 6 Weeks to Go… Let’s Use Them Wisely
We are now just 6 weeks away from the GCSE English Literature Paper 1 exam.
This is the point where small, consistent effort can make a huge difference to final grades.
The truth:
You don’t need hours and hours of revision.
You need little and often.
👉 20 minutes a day
👉 4–5 times per week
That’s it.
Done consistently, this builds knowledge, confidence and exam readiness.
🎯 What should students be doing?
✔️ Retrieval practice: Learn and recall key quotes from memory
Don’t just read them — test yourself
✔️ Practising exam questions: Apply knowledge in timed conditions
Get familiar with how questions are worded
✔️ Acting on feedback: This is where the real progress happens
Understanding how to improve = higher grades
⚠️ What NOT to do:
• Don’t leave it until the night before
• Don’t just reread notes
• Don’t rely on “I’ll remember it”
Start now, thank yourself later
The students who improve the most over the next 6 weeks are not the ones doing the most…
They are the ones doing the right things consistently.
Parents, a small nudge to get started can make all the difference.
