The Bridge - Weekly Artist Progress Tracker
Hey everyone, Big lesson here - this will hopefully be fun, as it's a worksheet so you can see your progress. Not a lecture, not a talk, not a short read that goes nowhere. But a goal and dream progress tracker designed to push you past whatever is blocking you and is in your way.
Open this document and make a copy so you can edit it and fill it out for yourself.
The deeper questions are at the bottom to help guide you through the worksheet. Go to the bottom and read it first
The Deeper Questions - The Bridge Worksheet Questionnaire
I want you to really think about these questions. Try not to give these obvious answers.
“I wanna be a big DJ, drummer, producer, etc.”
“I wanna make a full-time living from music.”
“I wanna play festivals.”
“I wanna get signed to a big label.”
“I wanna have a million streams.”
Those answers are fine, but they're the first layer, and almost everyone has these same ones.
I want you to go deeper.
One of the biggest things I want you to do here is stop comparing your life to somebody else's life.
Especially what you see on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok or wherever else.
You're looking at somebody else's highlight reel and comparing it to your Tuesday afternoon.
You don't see the 15 years of work that came before the video. You don't see the failures, the people they met, the money they spent, the opportunities they missed, the things happening behind the scenes, or what their actual day-to-day life looks like.
You see the finished product… And celebrities and huge artists can almost become fictional characters in our minds.
We see the stage, the tour bus, the private jet, the festival crowd, the millions of streams, the fancy studio.
But that's not really their life, that's a tiny piece of their life that has been presented to you.
We need to bring this back down to real life.
Your life. Your situation. Where you are right now. What skills you have right now. How much time you have right now.
What resources you have right now. And then we need to figure out where you actually want to go.
Because the connection between where you are right now and where you want to go is probably the most important part of this entire exercise.
There has to be a bridge.
If the bridge is this massive thing from “I make music in my bedroom” to “I'm headlining Ultra,” you're probably going to look at that bridge and think, “There's no fucking way I can do that.” And then you don't do anything. And, if you think, “I’m doing all of the right things, why is nothing happening?”… So we have to break the bridge down.
